Last month, the Columbia SC Moms Blog created a comprehensive guide to farmer's markets in the Midlands. With summer in full swing, Lake Carolina residents are out and about, enjoying sunny days, community activities and tons to do around town--including the slew of local markets (an undeniable staple of the season). To make browsing unique foods and fresh produce even easier, we’ve sifted through this guide to find the best farmer’s markets near our community:

1) Blythewood Farmer’s Market
Just 10 minutes away from our development lies an exciting market of home goods, delicious eats and live entertainment. Whether you’re looking for fresh SC-certified fruits and veggies, handmade soaps or kid-friendly activities, the Blythewood Farmer’s Market is the place to be. This market runs from 4-7PM every Wednesday until July 23.

171 Langford Road, Blythewood

2) Sandhill Farmer’s Market
Spend your Tuesday afternoons (2-7PM) visiting the freshest farmer’s market around. Located at Clemson University’s Sandhill Research and Education Center, this market brings organic food from various regions, all homegrown! Gardening enthusiasts can also gain some insight at the featured “Ask a Master Gardener” booth.

900 Clemson Road, Columbia

3) Soda City Market
The Soda City Market is serious business. Instead of being seasonal, this fun community activity is open to the public every Saturday (9AM-1PM) in downtown Columbia’s bustling Main Street center. Nestled between shops, cafes and more, Soda City Market rotates vendors--ranging from healthy greens to BBQ--and offers guests an exciting experience at any time of the year. Plus, it’s a quick 30 minutes away from Lake Carolina!

1500 Main Street, Columbia

4) Kershaw County Farmer’s Market
Also located just 30 minutes away is Kershaw County’s market. Explore the market’s delectable menu of freshly grown foods while listening to live music. It’s the perfect morning stop if you’re in the mood for a stroll, a snack and some tunes. Stop by on Saturdays from 8AM-12PM until late fall.

631 W. DeKalb Street, Camden

5) Lake Carolina Farmer's Market
If a fun, fresh farmer's market is something you fancy, stay close to home with Lake Carolina's own event! The market's calendar brings folks of all ages plenty to do, with activities for kids, fresh peach bellinis, free health screenings, live entertainment, delicious food and more. Visit the Lake Carolina Farmer's Market Facebook page for more information. We'll see you there!
