The Lake Carolina community is home to a diverse set of families--many of which include a furry, four-legged member! If you’re a proud dog owner, you know that a move can be just as challenging for your canine as it is for you. Not only does Lake Carolina offer 30+ miles of spacious walking trails for you and your puppy to roam, it’s situated in the greater Columbia area, home to a number of dog-friendly spots! While there’s plenty of room to run within our development, here are a few popular places within a 35-minute radius of the community:

Dog-Friendly Parks
The map of South Carolina’s popular city is peppered with dog-friendly parks! Just a short drive from Lake Carolina's development lies Sesquicentennial State Park, a luscious preserve with hiking paths, a rope course and areas dedicated for Man’s Best Friend. Finlay Park is also a go-to spot for locals. As one of the most iconic parks in Columbia, it offers plenty to do for both humans and canines alike. NOMA (North Main) Dog Park requires a membership for your pup, but it’s well worth it! This park ensures all dogs are vaccinated and safe to play off-leash.

Dog-Friendly Patios
Nearby restaurants and eateries, such as Cantina 76 (a delicious Mexican joint), Blue Marlin (a Southern-inspired selection of fresh fish and seafood) or Pawley's Front Porch (which offers tasty burgers and comfort food) have open patio seating during the summer. They are also amongst the many dining facilities in Columbia that allow dogs to accompany their owners on the patio!

Dog-Friendly Events
Stay social with the numerous pup-friendly events that take place year-round! Pawmetto Lifeline's Annual Bark to the Park offers plenty of fun for dogs, owners and families in general. This large-scale fundraising event donates proceeds to life-saving programs for animals. It also strives to aid the adoption of homeless pets across the Midlands!
