Lake Carolina Takes Home Three Regal Awards
Feb 05, 2013
Lake Carolina is honored to have received the Community Service Award presented by The State Newspaper, Judges Choice Award and Best Use of Social Media for the Lake Carolina Wine and Food Festival at the 2012 Regal Awards over the weekend!
The Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia had this to say about Lake Carolina receiving the Community Service Award.
"Tonight we’d like to recognize a group of individuals that work tirelessly all year hosting events and raising funds for their charity to be able to “give back” to the community that has so richly blessed them. Lake Carolina formed Children's Charities of the Midland as a non-profit corporation in 2000. It was formed specifically to promote charitable endeavors and causes and to raise funds and contributions primarily for the betterment and improvement of the health, welfare and education of children and youth
This past year, Lake Carolina’s 10th Annual Wine & Food Festival raised $18,000 for Children's Charities. Recipients were, Harvest Hope Food Bank, which serves struggling families in 20 South Carolina counties and Abundant Life Equipment Lending Library, which helps Midlands children who suffered from devastating illnesses and accidents by providing access to vital medical equipment such as wheelchairs, positioning equipment, and nerve and muscle stimulators. In addition, $10,000 was donated to the Haiti Children Project. This projected is Founded by your own Wade McGuinn, one of Lake Carolina’s homebuilders. The Haiti Children Project supports an orphanage for 39 displaced children in Jeremie, Haiti, and hopes to expand to provide a feeding and school program for hundreds of children in the local village.
Lake Carolina takes pride in its many ongoing community service projects and this year added the Lake Carolina Military Ambassador Program. This program connects military and federal civilian families in the Lake Carolina community, as well as others in Northeast Columbia with the many services provided by Fort Jackson.
Congratulations to the Lake Carolina team for winning our Community Service Award!"
