Lake Carolina Gives Back
The residents of Lake Carolina go out of their way each year to raise funds in support of Children's Charities of the Midlands.

Lake Carolina Wine and Food Festival Raises $10,000 for Haiti Children
The 10th Annual Lake Carolina Wine & Food Festival raised money for Lexington, SC-based Haiti Children Project, which was founded by Wade McGuinn and his wife, Janet.  The Project supports an orphanage that provides a home for 39 displaced children in Jeremie, Haiti.  The Project hopes to expand its services to provide a feeding and a school program for hundreds of children in the local village.

Children's Charities Donates $4,000 to Harvest Hope
"The generosity of Lake Carolina residents will go far in providing food, comfort and hope to the families and children in our region who need it most," said Denise Holland, CEO of Harvest Hope Food Bank.  "We appreciate their willingness to step in and help when so many are in need."  Harvest Hope Food Bank provides for the needs of hungry people by gathering and sharing quality food with dignity, compassion and education.

Children's Charities Presents $4,000 to Abundant Life Equipment Lending Library
A $4,000 donation from Children's Charities of the Midlands to Abundant Life Equipment Lending Library will help Columbia area children receive equipment to recover from devastating illnesses and accidents.  Columbia did not have a durable medical equipment library.  Abundant Life Equipment Lending Library located at the Village Green, was established in October, 2010 to meet this need.
