Lake Carolina's annual Oyster Roast to raise funds for Children's Charities of the Midlands

COLUMBIA, S.C. (February 8, 2011) - Lake Carolina will host the seventh annual Oyster Roast on Sat., March 5 from 4-7 p.m. in supportof Children's Charities of the Midlands. Held on Lake Carolina'sVillage Green, the festival will have food for all ages includingbarbeque, baked beans, cole slaw and of course, oysters!

Guests also will be able to enjoy live music by the Coconut Groove Band, which is an awesome versatile band that provides a wide range of musical styles ranging from Easy Listening, Soul, Rhythm & Blues, Island Theme, Rock'n'Roll, Funk & The Blues. 

Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and a cooler with their favorite spirits to enjoy the band's musical performances with their friends and families on the Village Green.

The annual Oyster Roast is one of two major events Lake Carolina hosts each year to raise funds for Children's Charities of the Midlands, a 501(c)3 organizations dedicated to promoting charitable endeavors that are committed to improving the health, welfare and education of South Carolina's youth.
