NORTHEAST FARMERS MARKET OPENS THIS WEEK
The Northeast Farmers Market will be opening for it’s 11th year at the Doko Meadows in Blythewood on Monday, June 3rd AND Lake Carolina Town Center on Thursday, June 6th . The market features fresh fruits and vegetables, seafood, lovely flowers and plants, delicious baked goods, certified organic produce, soaps, potpourri, and more. The market will be open from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and these hours will continue every Monday and Thursday until the market ends in late October. The fruits and vegetables are grown locally and picked when ripened to perfection. This helps to enhance the taste, texture and aroma of the produce. Experiencing food at its finest can encourage even the pickiest eater to try a few bites. When it comes to fresh fruits and vegetables, the market is the perfect place to locate some fabulous food finds for everyone in the family!
“This years’ market promises an even greater variety than years past,” said Sarah Bailey, who spearheads this project, trumpeting the opening of the 2013 farmers’ market season. “There will be new growers and old friends you've come to know and love over the past years.” With two convenient locations, you’re sure to find what you need.
The market also features activities each week for kids of all ages, live music, demonstrations of all kinds and special monthly features. You’ll want to check us out weekly on Facebook to see what’s taking place each week.
