Fire up the grill and grab your shades because this Memorial Day weekend in Columbia is going to be a doozy!  Famously HOT is back and no better timing to start the heat of summer than Memorial Day weekend.

There's plenty of activities at Lake Carolina to keep you cool & collected this holiday weekend.  Take a dip in the pool, a swim in the lake or rest comfortably on your shaded screened-in porch.  Follow it up with baby back ribs, potato salad and fresh sweet corn on the cob from the Farmer's Market and it's a party!

Or get out and about in Columbia with several events happening this weekend.  Check out ColumbiaSC-Events.com for the latest.

Hosting a red, white & blue party of your own?  What will you be serving?

Run for the Roses or the Margaritas?

With the Kentucky Derby landing on Cinco de Mayo this year, we wonder if people will be wearing big hats or sombreros and drinking mint juleps or margaritas?

Mint Julep Bistro & Lounge
is celebrating Derby Day as they should...their name does take after the famous Churchill Downs signature cocktail.  Doors open at 4pm and pre-race party starts at 5pm.  Drink specials all afternoon/evening with Bourbon & Wine tasting at 6pm.  Food specials and live music and even a best hat contest for the ladies and a best dressed contest for the gentlemen.  If you're into horses rather than pinatas, this is your party.

For the margarita lovers, head on over to your favorite Mexican Restaurant and try one of their specialty margaritas.

Are you running for the roses or the margaritas on Saturday?
