Believe it or not, Easter is only a week away.  Although March hasn't brought us the warm spring temperatures we are used to in Columbia, SC,  we are hopeful for sunny skies and high 60's soon!

Village Church blesses us each year with their Easter Eggstravaganza held at the Jeep Rogers Family YMCA of Columbia.  This year's celebration will be better than ever!

Bring the kiddos for photos with the Easter Bunny, a huge Easter egg hunt with over 15,000 eggs, goody bags, free food and much  more fun!

Visit www.blythewoodvillage.com for additional information!

Village Church Easter Eggstravaganza
Saturday, March 30 from 11am to 1pm
at Jeep Rogers Family YMCA of Columbia

Learn to garden like a master at one of several workshops happening this spring/summer in Columbia, SC.  Sponsored by the South Carolina Midlands Master Gardeners, these workshops are open to the public and free of charge.  Learn about rain gardens, adaptive gardening, shade gardening, container gardening, vegetables, herbs and much more.

Click HERE for their schedule of workshops.

South Carolina's mild climate offers residents a 12 month growing season in Columbia, SC.  From winter root vegetables and greens to summer fruits and vegetables we can eat local & healthy all year long!

A few of our favorites (& best producing) are tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and herb basil.

We love the Clemson Cooperative Extension website for planning, planting and harvesting your garden.  Check it out.  The website also lists a variety of fruits & vegetables and the recommended times of the year for planting.  A very helpful guide to amateur gardeners.  See what you should be planting when HERE.

What types of veggies are you planting this year?
