Lake Carolina Recordes 156 Sales in First Half of 2012
Jul 16, 2012
Sales at Columbia’s leading master-planned community continue to outpace 2011.
Columbia, SC – Lake Carolina, a residential master-planned community located northeast of Columbia, announces 156 sales of new homes and homesites through the second quarter of 2012. The high sales pace continues the strong momentum the community has seen throughout 2012 and poises Lake Carolina to double 2011 sales levels.
“We are continuing to see strong results for 2012,” says David Tuttle, President of Lake Carolina Development Company. “We started the year with strong sales and fortunately it’s continuing into the summer months. Interest rates continue at record lows, confidence is beginning to return and all of the signs continue to forecast a successful 2012.”
Sales within Lake Carolina to the region’s top builders are brisk as well and account for a portion of the increased sales within the community. Essex Homes, Hallmark Homes, Mungo Homes, McGuinn Homes, Sovereign Homes and Capogrossi Construction are all participating in new home construction within the Lake Carolina. “Our builders are continuing to buy homesites as they move through their inventory,” continues Mr. Tuttle. “It’s positive for both Lake Carolina and new home buyers.”
“We are seeing strong activity across all price points,” comments Carol Douis, President of Lake Carolina Properties. “We expanded our product offering this year and we are maintaining a variety of new inventory homes. Buyers have plenty to choose from and the excitement is translating into strong sales.”
In addition to the new home construction, construction continues on a new elementary school, the third Richland District 2 school located within Lake Carolina. The new school is scheduled to open in the fall of 2013. "Nowhere else in Columbia can families have the opportunities for education, exercise, entertainment and the overall lifestyle they find right in their own backyard in Lake Carolina," says Ms. Douis.
