LAKE CAROLINA ENDS QUARTER WITH 72 SALES
Apr 03, 2012
Columbia, SC (April 3, 2012) – Lake Carolina, a residential master-planned community located northeast of Columbia, announces 72 sales of new homes and homesites for the first quarter of 2012. The pace puts the community on track to more than double 2011 sales levels.
“We’ve started 2012 with great momentum,” says David Tuttle, President of Lake Carolina Development Company. “There are positive signs in the market, interest rates are down, credit is beginning to loosen and we are seeing increased construction activity. All of the signs are here for a successful 2012.”
Lake Carolina has partnered with many of Columbia’s top builders, all of which have construction activity underway at Lake Carolina. Essex Homes, Hallmark Homes, Mungo Homes and McGuinn Homes have a total of over 50 homes in some stage of construction in various neighborhoods throughout the community. Builder sales have also attributed to the sharp increase in sales. “Our builder partners are seeing the same positive signs in the market we are and are buying homesites in preparation to build more inventory,” continues Mr. Tuttle.
“Its been a while since we’ve had this much activity at all price points within the community at one time,” comments Carol Douis, President of Lake Carolina Properties. “Lake Carolina recorded 105 new home closings last year, finishing in the top-5 in both Carolinas*. That was a remarkable achievement and we are even more positive about the market this year.”
In addition to all of the new home construction, construction is beginning on a new elementary school as well. A second Richland District 2 elementary school located within Lake Carolina is scheduled to open in fall 2013.
“We feel we are in a strong position for 2012,” comments Ms. Douis. “We have expanded our product offerings and maintain a variety of new inventory homes. Activity breeds activity, people can’t help but be excited about our community and many offerings.”
